Kenya’s under-20 rugby team, Chipu, will face Zimbabwe in the Barthes Cup final on Sunday at Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium, with the aim of snatching the crown from the defending champions.

Chipu overcame former champions Namibia in the quarter-finals with a 24-13 win and are set to make minimal changes to their squad for the final.

Head coach Curtis Olago expects a tough match against Zimbabwe but believes his team can succeed with the same intensity and physicality displayed against Namibia.

The final is expected to be a physical contest, with Kenyan captain Laban Kipsang urging his team to make the most of their opportunities and defend well.

The winner of the Barthes Cup final will also qualify for the Junior World Rugby Trophy tournament to be held in Kenya in July.
