Ex-World and Olympic Sprint Champion Bowie dies aged 32

Tori Bowie, the former 100m world champion and three-time Olympic medallist, has died at the age of 32.

Bowie won gold in the 4x100m relay at the Rio 2016 Olympics, as well as 100m silver and 200m bronze.

She also won the 100m global title and relay gold at the 2017 World Championships in London. Her passing has left the athletics community in shock, with USA Track and Field expressing that her “impact on the sport is immeasurable” and that she will be “greatly missed”.

Her agent, Icon Management, said Bowie was a “champion” and a “beacon of light” who will be deeply missed and offered their condolences to her family and friends.

World Athletics also expressed their sadness at Bowie’s death in a post on Instagram.
