Extreme Sports has joined forces with the annual Koth Biro Soccer tournament as part of its ‘Super 8 at 20’ celebrations. Super 8 football, a league established by Extreme Sports to nurture grassroots football talent, marked its 20th anniversary on September 8.

In a statement, Extreme Sports explained that the partnership’s objective is to empower grassroots football and offer support to talented young players in realizing their dreams. The statement emphasized their belief in the transformative power of sports in communities and their commitment to inspiring others to do the same.

Hussein Mohammed, CEO of Extreme Sports, reaffirmed his support for grassroots teams by contributing Ksh 200,000 to the tournament’s prize money. The winner will receive Ksh 100,000, the first runner-up will get Ksh 70,000, and the third-placed team will walk away with Ksh 30,000.

The Koth Biro tournament has a storied history dating back to the 1970s when it was established as a means to keep young men away from the streets and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their soccer talents.

Over the years, it has become a prestigious event, attracting players and spectators from all over the country. Additionally, it serves as a valuable platform for football coaches and scouts to identify emerging talent.

This collaboration unites two organizations committed to promoting sporting excellence and community involvement at the grassroots level.
