Nigeria, led by Victor Osimhen, initially took the lead late in the first half when captain William Troost-Ekong headed in a goal from a corner. However, Ivory Coast mounted a comeback, with Franck Kessie equalizing just after the hour mark. This victory marks Ivory Coast’s third AFCON title, adding to their triumphs in 1992 and 2015. It also sees them join Nigeria on three Cup of Nations triumphs overall.
