Chris Erambo, the promising talent from Tusker FC, has been selected for the Harambee Stars’ squad traveling to Malawi for an upcoming four-nation tournament.

At just 19, Erambo’s stellar play has earned him his inaugural national team call-up, and he’s poised to vie for a central role in the midfield.

Joining him is Kaycie Odhiambo from AFC Leopards, who is also celebrating his first national team selection. The squad sees a late addition in Geoffrey Onyango, Gor Mahia’s captain, stepping in for the injured Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma, alongside Alphonce Omija, who is making his debut call-up from Oman.

The provisional squad has seen some players left behind, including David Sakwa from Bandari, Shariff Musa of Gor Mahia, and Bonphas Munyasa, the goalkeeper for Murang’a Seal.

The Harambee Stars are set to kick off their campaign on Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium against the host nation, Malawi. Success in this match will pit them against the victor of the Zambia vs. Zimbabwe clash, while a loss would mean facing the defeated side from that game.

Travelling Squad

Goalkeepers: Ian Otieno, Byrne Omondi, Patrick Matasi

Defenders: Joseph Okumu, Johnstone Omurwa, Alphonce Omija, Collins Sichenje, Daniel Anyembe, Abud Omar, Amos Nondi, Geoffrey Ochieng

Forwards: Michael Olunga, Jonah Ayunga, Benson Omalla, John Avire.

The team’s composition reflects a blend of experience and fresh talent, with the hopes of making a strong showing in the tournament and laying the groundwork for future international successes.
