K.South and Swans emerged victorious in the Red Bull 3×3 Nairobi edition

In a closely contested men’s final, K.South managed to secure a hard-fought victory against Bands with a scoreline of 18-13 in the Red Bull 3×3 Nairobi edition finals held at the Strathmore University Sports Complex on Sunday.

On the other hand, the ladies’ game saw Swans dominate Noga, securing a convincing 16-1 win.

Davies Siaji, a national team player, and his teammate Deng Garang were instrumental in K.South’s success, contributing six points to their team’s total.

Gwetu Misoga led the scoring for the losing side with six points.

Reflecting on the final in an interview, Siaji expressed satisfaction with their performance, acknowledging the tough challenge posed by their opponents. Looking ahead, he mentioned their preparations for the upcoming national playoffs and their determination to perform even better.

In the ladies’ final, Swans, led by Christine Akinyi and Debra Obunga, proved too strong for Noga, securing a dominant victory of 16-1. Akinyi and Jemimah Knight were the top scorers for the Swans, each contributing five goals, while Obunga added four goals.

In the men’s semifinals, K.South narrowly defeated RBK with a score of 18-17 in a closely contested match. The losers, led by James “Jeymo” Mwangi, put up a strong fight. In the other semifinal, the Bands, guided by Eugene Adera, overwhelmed Noga with a scoreline of 21-12.

In the ladies’ semifinals, Noga, led by Chantal Kiyobe, secured an 11-5 victory against Baddies, captained by Mercy Mumo. Swans, with Akinyi showcasing exceptional form, proved too strong for Tiger, winning convincingly with a score of 21-9.

All eight semifinalists, including K.South, Bands, Noga, and RBK (men), as well as Swans, Noga, Baddies, and Tigers (women), have qualified for the final round scheduled to take place at the United States International University (USIU) courts this weekend.

They will compete against teams from Mombasa, Kisumu, and Eldoret in what promises to be an exciting culmination of the tournament.
