KCB Women’s Volleyball Team secures Round of 16 spots with a dominant win.

In a commanding performance, the defending champions defeated the National Alcohol Liquor Factory of Ethiopia 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-9) in Tunisia, guaranteeing their advancement in the African Clubs Championship with a game to spare.

Having triumphed over Nyong from Cameroon 3-0 (25-07, 25-20, 25-16) in their opening match of Pool “B” on Saturday, KCB showcased their prowess once again.

Captain Edith Wisa acknowledged the initial challenge posed by their Ethiopian opponents’ tricky serves but commended her team’s ability to settle into the game.

Coach Japtheth Munala expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, acknowledging the tenacity of NAL and their ability to push KCB to its limits.

Munala highlighted the need for quick adjustments to counter the Ethiopians’ unique style of play, resulting in relatively low set scores.

As KCB enjoys a rest day on Monday, they are already looking ahead to their final pool match against Asac Salitigue of Senegal on Tuesday.

The team aims to maintain their winning streak, secure the top spot in their pool, and potentially face a more favorable opponent in the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, Kenya Pipeline, the local champions drawn in Pool “C,” will resume action on Monday following their rest day on Sunday.

After a solid 3-1 victory (25-12, 21-25, 25-13, 27-25) over Chief Naval Staff Spikers from Nigeria on Saturday, the team coached by Paul Gitau is preparing to take on Mouloudia Club d’Alger.
