KCB RFC’s head coach, Curtis Olago, emphasized their unwavering determination to reclaim the Kenya Cup title they had lost to Kabras RFC in the last two seasons.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s Sporty Monday program, Olago asserted that his team was fully committed to winning their remaining matches to secure victory at the end of the season.

“We are striving to transition while also securing victories in matches. It’s a substantial task, but as a team, we possess the attitude of never giving up. We will always compete fiercely on the pitch… However, Kabras RFC is a formidable opponent. If we meet them in the final, we will give it our all,” stated Olago.

With only two matches remaining in the regular season, KCB will face Menengai Oilers and their arch-rivals, Kabras RFC, in crucial encounters for playoff qualification. Olago, a veteran tactician, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to maintain their unbeaten streak.

“The margin between us and Kabras is narrow, even in our victories against them. Our success is attributed to the significant investment in the sport by our sponsors, which has fostered an environment conducive to excellence on the pitch,” Olago added.

Assistant coach Brian Omondi echoed Olago’s sentiments, emphasizing the team’s approach to every game with a final mentality.

“Each match is treated as a final. While we respect our opponents, our mentality is always geared towards winning as we aim to reclaim the title from our rivals,” Omondi remarked.

Currently occupying the second spot in the cup standings with 44 points from nine games, KCB RFC is poised for intense clashes in their quest to regain the Kenya Cup title. Their upcoming match against Menengai Oilers presents another opportunity to solidify their position in the playoffs race.
