Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) head coach, Sammy Mulinge, has expressed a sense of responsibility as his team heads to Kelibia, Tunisia for the African Men’s Volleyball Clubs Championship.

KPA will be the only Kenyan representative after the withdrawal of GSU due to financial setbacks. Currently, camping at their Makande Hall base in Mombasa, KPA will be making their third successive appearance at the event from May 8 to 21.

Although pressure will be on them as the only Kenyan team, Mulinge has taken it off his players, saying his target is to improve on last year’s fifth-place finish.

He believes they have a chance at a podium finish and has trimmed his squad from 17 to 14 before heading to Tunisia.

Despite the absence of dependable opposite hitter Enock Mogeni, who is playing in Japan, Mulinge is confident that he has enough arsenal at his disposal. KPA will undoubtedly aim to make Kenyans proud on the continental stage.
