Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) is encouraging die-hard rugby fans to attend the final play-offs of the World Rugby U20 Trophy tournament by introducing highly subsidized tickets for the event.

From Wednesday, July 26th, until midnight on Saturday, July 29th, KRU is running a Ksh 100 advanced match entry ticket sales drive. Fans can book their tickets early for Sunday matches through a USSD code *805#.

On match day, regular tickets will be priced at Ksh 300, while VIP tickets will cost Ksh 1,000. Primary and high school students in uniform will continue to enjoy free entry.

Alexander ‘Sasha’ Mutai, Chairman of Kenya Rugby Union, called on Kenyan rugby fans to show their support for the Kenya Under 20 players and boost their spirits for the final performance of the tournament. He emphasized the importance of the last match for Chipu, Kenya as the host country, and for the future positioning of the team in the continent and World Rugby.

Hosts Kenya will play Zimbabwe in the fifth-place play-offs at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday. Spain and Uruguay will vie for the top slot and promotion, while Scotland and Samoa will battle for third place. Hong Kong China will take on the USA in the seventh-place play-off game.

Harriet Okach, Kenya Rugby Union Commercial Director, stated that the new board is committed to transforming rugby in the country and taking the game to the next level.

The ticket sales drive aims to provide all Kenyans with an opportunity to witness the finals of this global event happening at home, with a particular focus on the young generation’s support to enhance Kenya’s final performance.

The final play-offs will feature a special appearance by legendary former Springbok prop Tendai ‘The Beast’ Mtawarira as one of the high-profile guests at the closing event. His presence is expected to motivate the players to aspire to greater achievements in global tournaments.

Herbert Mensah, recently elected President of Rugby Africa, will represent World Rugby Chairman, Sir Bill Beaumont, at the World Rugby U20 Trophy tournament and will present the highly coveted trophy to the winning team.

Ian Mugambi, WRU20 Chief Executive Officer, urged Kenyan fans to take advantage of the flash sale and support Chipu as they face Zimbabwe in the fifth and sixth place play-offs, aiming to reclaim their position as the best under-20 team in Africa.
