KSF Selects 12 Swimmers to Represent Country at World Junior Championships in Israel

Kenya’s swimming team is set to make a splash at the upcoming World Junior Swimming Championships in Netanya, Israel, with a strong contingent of 12 swimmers.

Leading the charge for medals will be Lubaina Ali, alongside Bianca Samuel, Audrey Chebet, Sarah Mose, Antisha Mose, and Angel D Samoe in the girls’ category.

In the boys’ category, Nathan Matimu, who has showcased impressive form in local events, will spearhead Kenya’s ambitions. He will be joined by Shaka Gikunda, Mutinda Aker, Joshua Masaka, Haniel Khudoli, and Ali A Nandy.

With two months remaining until the championships, Lubaina Ali expressed her optimism and emphasized the need for intense training to reach peak condition. Meanwhile, Matimu aims to achieve a two-fold goal: reaching the final in his respective event and lowering his personal best. He plans to participate in a couple of warm-up events to fine-tune his preparations for Israel.

To further enhance their readiness for the global event, Mose and Aker will represent Kenya at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, scheduled for August 4-7. Lubaina and Matimu will serve as reserve swimmers for the Commonwealth Youth event.

The stage is set for Kenya’s young swimming talents to make a mark on the international stage, with high hopes of success at both the Commonwealth Youth Games and the World Junior Swimming Championships.
