Mane’s Brace Inspires Senegal to Exhilarating 4-2 Victory Over Brazil
Sadio Mane’s brace inspired African champions Senegal to a remarkable 4-2 comeback victory over five-time World Cup winners Brazil in an international friendly held in Lisbon on Tuesday.
Despite Brazil still searching for a coach since the departure of Tite last year and Neymar sidelined due to an ankle injury suffered in February, they took an early lead when Lucas Paqueta headed in Vinicius Junior’s cross after 10 minutes.
However, Senegal swiftly responded with a thunderous left-foot volley from Strasbourg forward Habib Diallo, levelling the score.
In the second half, Senegal capitalized on an own goal by Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos, putting them in the lead.
Mane then showcased his brilliance by curling a magnificent shot into the top corner, extending Senegal’s advantage to 3-1.
Brazil managed to reduce the deficit when Marquinhos redeemed himself, this time looping a mishit effort over Senegal goalkeeper Mory Diaw. However, it was Mane who had the final say, securing Senegal’s triumph with his second goal of the match from the penalty spot in deep stoppage time.
The victory showcased Senegal’s resilience and attacking prowess, while also serving as a reminder of Mane’s exceptional abilities on the field.
