Moi Airbase emerged triumphant in the 2023 Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) Taekwondo Championship, securing victory in both the men’s category and the overall performance of the two-day event held at the Moi Air Base in Nairobi.

The tournament featured a total of 14 teams representing various formations, brigades, and bases within the Kenya Defense Forces. The event served as a platform for participants to showcase their taekwondo skills and compete in the interdepartmental games.

Lemiso Leshau, the captain of Moi Airbase, praised his teammates for their dedicated preparations and determination that led to their victory in this year’s championship. He highlighted the team’s research and strategic approach that provided them with an advantage. Leshau expressed confidence in their future endeavours, aiming to secure further victories in the upcoming championships.

In the women’s category, Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe claimed the championship title. While they secured the top spot in their category, they also performed commendably to finish as runners-up in the overall competition.

The winners and standout performers from the KDF Taekwondo Championship will go on to represent the military in national-level competitions, contributing to the broader success of the national taekwondo team.
