Kakamega Sports Club is preparing to host the much-awaited fifth edition of the NCBA golf series on June 10, with an expected turnout of at least 150 golfers.

This year, the series returns to Kakamega as a qualifier, inviting neighbouring clubs such as Nyanza Golf Club to participate in the day-long event.

The qualifier will take place amidst the backdrop of the one-year anniversary customer engagement scheduled for Friday, June 9, adding to the excitement surrounding the tournament.

The winners of the overall gross, men’s category, women’s category, and juniors category will earn their coveted spots to compete in the prestigious Grand Finale.

This upcoming event follows the resounding success of the fourth leg held on May 25 at Thika Sports Club, which drew an impressive field of 256 golfers. Among the fierce competition, David Matano emerged as the overall winner, showcasing his skill and determination.

Simon Ndung’u claimed victory in the men’s category, displaying exceptional golfing prowess, while Naomi Kimata secured the title of a top lady golfer. In the juniors category, Garcia Kimemia emerged as the deserving champion. These exceptional golfers have earned their qualifications for the grand finale of the series, scheduled for December.

The NCBA golf series, now in its fifth edition, comprises a total of 17 club qualifier events held at various golf clubs in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.

The series has already witnessed successful tournaments at the Railway Golf Club, Limuru Country Club, Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club, and Thika Sports Club.

Additionally, the series includes two junior tournaments, with the first one held in Uganda in March and the upcoming one scheduled for the Nyali Golf Club in November, further fostering young talent in the sport.

With the anticipation building, golf enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to the NCBA golf series in Kakamega, as players showcase their skills and vie for a chance to compete in the highly anticipated Grand Finale later this year.
