Kenyan international Marjolene Nekesa continues to shine in Europe, playing a pivotal role in her club Slavia Praha’s qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Nekesa has been on a scoring spree, with her latest goal coming in a remarkable 6-0 victory over Romanian side Olimpia Cluj. She had previously netted a brace against the same opposition two weeks ago.

Her contribution in the recent match was swift, opening the scoring just 10 minutes into the game with a well-placed strike. The first half ended with Slavia Praha leading 2-0, with Tamara Moravkova adding the second goal right before halftime.

In the second half, the Czech Republic side continued their dominance, with Molly Coleen McLaughlin, Martina Surnovska, Haleigh Kae Stackpole, and Michaela Khyrova each contributing a goal.

Notably, Nekesa stands out as the sole Kenyan player participating in the group stages of the CAF Women’s Champions League, while Esse Akida’s Greek club PAOK faced hurdles in the qualification rounds.

Nekesa’s exceptional form is excellent news for Harambee Starlets’ head coach Beldine Odemba, especially with a crucial Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier against Botswana on the horizon next month. It’s worth noting that Nekesa was sidelined due to injury during the first-round qualification victory over Cameroon.
