National women’s basketball champions, Kenya Ports Authority, demonstrated their prowess with a resounding 86-42 victory over TH3 Swish as part of their preparations for the upcoming Africa Women Basketball League.
Valery Kemunto, a new addition to the team, showcased her scoring ability by leading all scorers with 23 points, while Becky Nkatha contributed 12 points to secure another win for the unbeaten champions. The AWBL is scheduled to commence in Alexandria, Egypt, on December 11.
In Nairobi, host Tigers enjoyed a successful weekend, securing a narrow 41-40 victory over Umoja, following their earlier triumph over Ulinzi Warriors with a 62-55 scoreline.
Vitumbiko Mponela led the Tigers with 18 points, complemented by Patrick Oduor’s 16 points and Anthony Eric’s 11.
Meanwhile, the USIU Flames dominated the women’s category with a convincing 73-29 win against the University of Nairobi.
In the lower division matches, Strathmore University suffered a 56-47 defeat against Eldoret-based Shoot-4-Life, while Multi Media University (MMU) secured a 38-26 victory over Eagle Wings.
