Basketball enthusiasts are in for a thrilling spectacle as the crème de la crème of the Kenya National Basketball Men’s Premier League gear up for the highly anticipated 2023 Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) All-Star Weekend at Nyayo Gymnasium, Nairobi.
The event, showcasing an epic showdown of skill, swagger, and sizzling slam dunks, will feature highlights such as the Dunk Contest and the Veteran All-Stars game. The blockbuster All-Star clash between the East and West teams is set for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
Kicking off the festivities is the Veteran All-Stars match at 6:00 p.m., followed by the All-Star clash at 8:00 p.m. The Dunk Contest, where the winner will secure a prize of Ksh. 10,000, will close the evening at 10:00 p.m.
The East team, under the guidance of KPA tactician Sammy Kiki, UoN’s Dr. Eugene Genga, and Equity Dumas’ Isaac Munyoki, will feature standout players such as Garang Diing, Dismas Osongo, Fidel Okoth, Eugene Adera, Job Byron, Davis Siaji, Victor Ochieng, Morgan Niva, Albert Odero, Geoffrey Odhiambo, Elisha Odhiambo, and Mabera Kuol.
The West team, coached by George Mayienga, Ancet Wafula, and Brad Ibs, includes notable players like Griffin Ligare, Faheem Juma, Ariel Okall, Ariel Ortega, Jordi Handa, Dennis Koja, Lenox Wanje, Stephen Simiyu, Victor Bosire, Brans Nzioka, Ivan Ombiri, and Bram Muchina.
Apart from the thrilling clashes, players will vie for the KBF All-Stars Game Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, recognizing the most outstanding player of the game. Basketball lovers can expect an evening filled with dazzling displays of athleticism and sportsmanship.
