Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that John Stones has joined Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Jeremy Doku on the club’s growing injury list.
Stones sustained an ankle injury during City’s recent win over Everton. Guardiola mentioned that Stones would face a brief spell on the sidelines.
The Premier League champions, already dealing with injuries to Haaland, De Bruyne, and Doku, are preparing to face Sheffield United, with Haaland yet to return to full training. Guardiola anticipates a challenging match against Sheffield United, emphasizing the team’s past difficulties against them.
Despite the injuries, City remains in contention for the Premier League title. The upcoming match against Sheffield United will be City’s last of 2023, a year in which they achieved significant success in various competitions. Guardiola characterized the past 12 months as “not bad at all.”
