The decisive goal, securing Gor Mahia’s continued pursuit of defending their league title, came courtesy of Austin Odhiambo, who emerged as the hero in this pivotal clash.
Meanwhile, at the Mbaraki Sports Club, hosts Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks settled for an entertaining 2-2 draw. Umar Kasumba and Nahimana Shassiri were on target for Bandari, while Patrick Ngunyi and Isaac Wasambo found the net for Sharks.
The match saw Bandari’s Kasumba miss a golden opportunity in the early minutes, while Ngunyi capitalized on a power play by Geoffrey Onyango and Keith Imbali to give Sharks the lead. Kasumba later equalized for Bandari just before the break, heading in a curled corner kick from William Wadri.
