Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have officially confirmed that their star player, Benson Omalla, has embarked on a loan spell with Algerian club JS Saoura.
The announcement came through a statement released on Monday, declaring that Omalla’s loan to JS Saoura FC will extend for the remainder of the season.
The clubs have formalized a loan agreement, incorporating the potential for a permanent transfer if Omalla demonstrates a noteworthy performance during his time with JS Saoura FC.
The Executive Committee of Gor Mahia FC expressed their satisfaction with the move, extending well wishes to Omalla for a successful stint in Algeria. They anticipate positive collaboration between the two clubs in the present and future.
Despite earlier speculations surrounding Omalla’s move to the Algerian side, the club’s leadership had initially dismissed them as unfounded. Since his transfer from Western Stima, Omalla has been a pivotal player for Gor Mahia, contributing significantly to the team’s 20th league title win last season.
JS Saoura, known as The Eagles, competes in Ligue 1, Algeria’s premier division, and hosts their home matches at the 20,000-seater 1955 Stadium. Omalla’s loan move presents an exciting opportunity for the young talent to showcase his skills at an international level.
