Dismas Indiza clinched the title of the 2023-24 Safari Tour season champion with a remarkable performance in the final round of the series at Karen Golf Club.
Indiza secured victory at the Karen leg of the tour, finishing with a gross total of 18-under par 270 after an impressive closing round of 67. His exceptional performance included an eagle on the par 5 hole, securing his second win of the tour and solidifying his position atop the Order of Merit.
With a total of 294.5 points, Indiza emerged as the clear winner of the season, surpassing Samuel Njoroge of Railways who finished in second place with 251.0 points. Greg Snow concluded the season in third position with 234.3 points, followed by Daniel Nduva of Mombasa in fourth with 172.0 points.
Reflecting on his victory, Indiza expressed his delight at ending the season on a high note. He credited his positive attitude and meticulous planning for his success throughout the tour.
In the decisive Karen leg, Indiza took control of the leaderboard as the penultimate leader, Ronald Rugumayo of Uganda, faltered in the closing round. Rugumayo’s disappointing over-par 75 in the final round relegated him to second place.
Greg Snow secured third place in the Karen leg with a gross score of 277. Snow’s consistent performance throughout the season included victories in Sigona and a third-place finish in Karen, highlighting his competitive prowess.
Indiza’s triumph at the Uganda Open and Karen leg of the Safari Tour exemplifies his exceptional skill and dominance on the course, solidifying his status as a formidable force in the world of golf.
