In a thrilling showdown at Dandora Stadium, Police FC showcased their prowess with a commanding 4-0 triumph over Sofapaka in today’s Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup match.
The scoring frenzy began in the 24th minute when David Okoth unleashed a powerful low drive, leaving the keeper with no chance and putting Police FC ahead.
Despite Sofapaka’s efforts to level the playing field, Police FC maintained their lead as the teams headed into halftime.
The second half saw Samuel Onyango further extend Police’s advantage with a goal in the 53rd minute, adding to the pressure on Sofapaka.
In the 69th minute, Onyango secured his brace, widening the gap to 3-0 in favor of Police FC.
As the match approached its conclusion, Marvin Nabwire sealed the comprehensive victory for Police with a goal in the 92nd minute, courtesy of a delivery from Clinton Kinanga.
In the first quarter-final match, KCB Football Club emerged victorious in a tightly contested battle against Kakamega Homeboyz, securing a 1-0 win and advancing to the semi-finals.
The decisive moment arrived in the 59th minute when Danson Namasaka found the back of the net, sparking jubilation among KCB fans and securing their place in the next round.
With their impressive win, Police FC will now face KCB in the first semi-final, while the winners between SS Assad and Kariobangi Sharks will square off against the victors between AFC Leopards and Compel FC in the second semi-final showdown.
