Chris Oguso, the CEO of Kenya Police Bullets FC, is rallying his team to overcome their recent FKF Cup disappointment and aim for the Kenyan Women Premier League (KWPL) championship.
Oguso remains confident in the team’s ability to win their final two league games and secure the title without a single defeat despite a semi-final penalty shootout loss to Ulinzi Starlets.
Oguso, who was abroad during the match, praised his team’s determination and extended his best wishes to Ulinzi Starlets for their upcoming final against Kibera Soccer Ladies. He also called on the Football Kenya Federation to enable FKF Women’s Cup winners to participate in CAF competitions, highlighting the disparity with the men’s league where winners compete in international tournaments.
The CEO emphasized the need for greater opportunities for women’s teams in CAF competitions, reflecting on the significant investment made in preparing the team. He believes that the players deserve the chance to showcase their talent on a larger stage.
Ulinzi Starlets are set to pursue their third FKF Women’s Cup title against Kibera Soccer Ladies on June 16, following Kibera’s victory over Zetech Sparks in the semi-finals.
Kenya Police Bullets FC, meanwhile, are focused on their upcoming league matches against Zetech Sparks and Bunyore Starlets, with the goal of clinching their first KWPL title.
