Their stellar performance culminated in a decisive 2-0 victory over Burundi, sealing their fate with a 5-0 aggregate score, and propelling them to the U-17 World Cup scheduled for October in the Dominican Republic.
The Ulinzi Sports Complex bore witness to this momentous occasion, as Marion Serenge and Valerie Nekesa netted goals in the first half, setting the stage for a monumental win on Sunday. The Starlets’ journey to the World Cup was marked by an impenetrable defense, not conceding a single goal throughout the qualifiers.
From the onset, the Junior Starlets demonstrated their prowess. Lornah Faith’s early attempt nearly found the mark, signaling a relentless offensive that Burundi would face.
