The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Electoral Board has officially announced December 7 as the date for the much-anticipated Federation elections, outlining the timeline for the electoral process.
Chaired by academician Hesbon Owilla, the board has issued a General Election notice in line with the newly released roadmap. They will publish a preliminary list of eligible clubs and delegates, followed by a period for disputes and appeals that must be concluded by October 7. The final official register will then be made public by October 10.
County nomination forms are expected to be submitted on October 11, with verification scheduled for October 15. The nomination and verification process for National Executive Committee members and presidential candidates will occur on October 18 and 19.
Candidates at all levels, from County to presidential, will be finalized by October 21, and any disputes or appeals can be lodged between October 24 and October 30. The final list will be submitted on November 2.
Tentative dates for County elections are set for November 9, with a repeat scheduled for November 10 in the event of ties. The period from November 13 to November 20 will be reserved for any disputes and appeals.
On November 23, following the County elections, the final list of delegates for the National Executive Committee and presidential elections will be published.
Despite some concerns regarding the integrity of the voter register and the board’s decision to operate from Kandanda House, the five-member board has committed to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.
Presidential hopeful Hussein Mohammed has expressed worries that the board’s proximity to the incumbent office at Kandanda House may lead to potential manipulation.
