The coach of Kenya’s national Under-21 men’s hockey team, Michael Malungu, encourages high school students to take the sport to strengthen the country’s future national teams.
Malungu, who recently led the Under-21 team to a third-place finish at the Hockey Junior Africa Cup in Ismailia, Egypt, believes that high school teams are crucial for identifying and developing hockey talent.
He urged students to consider hockey as a viable option for sports, and for parents and teachers to support them with the necessary equipment.
Although the team missed out on qualifying for the Junior World Cup, Malungu believes that nurturing young talent is key to future success.
