General Service Unit (GSU) emerged victorious over Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in a thrilling encounter, securing a 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 25-27, 25-14) sets win. The match, held at Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium, marked the sixth leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation men’s league matches.
With this crucial victory, GSU took the lead in the standings, edging closer to their record 15th league title.
The head coach of GSU expressed his elation and praised his team’s exceptional performance, emphasizing their preparedness and sharpness in executing their game plan. Confident in their abilities, he asserted his determination to finish the regular season on top and excel in the upcoming playoffs.
On the other hand, KDF, who achieved a top-four finish last season, acknowledged their defeat and attributed it to subpar services from their players. The team’s head coach acknowledged the need to address this issue and vowed to rectify their mistakes going forward.
As the regular season nears its conclusion, GSU has three more matches remaining, while KDF aims to secure victories in their remaining two matches as they shift their focus to the playoffs.
