In a resounding testament to the transformative power of coaching philosophy, AFC Leopards’ head honcho, Thomas Trucha, attributes the squad’s recent blitz of goals and victories to his strategic vision.

This revelation comes on the heels of yet another triumph for Ingwe, extending their unbeaten streak to a commendable eight games across all competitions this year. Their latest conquest, a hard-fought 2-0 win over Nzoia Sugar at the Nyayo National Stadium, showcased the team’s prowess and resilience.

Reflecting on his predecessor’s tenure, Trucha noted the missed opportunities for player engagement under Tom Juma’s leadership. Since taking the reins, however, Trucha has made it his mission to impart his philosophy and distinctive style of play onto the team.

Central to his approach has been an unwavering emphasis on rigorous training sessions. The fruits of this labor are now palpable, with players demonstrating heightened commitment and fierce competition for spots within the squad. This elevated level of dedication, Trucha insists, has been the linchpin behind their string of victories.

The recent conquest catapults AFC Leopards to a respectable seventh place in the FKF-PL standings, amassing 34 points after 23 rounds, trailing leader Gor Mahia by 16 points.

Despite emerging triumphant, Trucha lauded Nzoia’s robust defensive tactics, which stymied Ingwe’s advances in the first half. However, astute halftime adjustments tilted the scales in their favor.

Acknowledging the arduous task at hand, Trucha recognized the allure of the underdog status. Nzoia’s defensive mindset sought to exploit Ingwe’s vulnerabilities, banking on counterattacks and defensive solidity.

While the initial execution faltered with wayward shots and misplaced passes, halftime provided an opportunity for recalibration. Trucha’s strategic interventions bore fruit, as the team emerged revitalized and resolute in the second half.

AFC Leopards’ resurgence is underscored by a slew of victories against formidable opponents, including Ulinzi Stars, Muhoroni Youth, City Stars, Kariobangi Sharks, Murangá SEAL, and PAC University (in the FKF Cup), alongside Nzoia Sugar. A lone blemish, a draw with Kakamega Homeboyz, serves as a testament to their newfound resilience.

Trucha’s impact on the team extends beyond the pitch, reigniting a fervent competitive spirit within the Leopards’ camp. Victories are no longer outliers but rather the expected norm, with the team eagerly anticipating their upcoming fixtures.

Next in line for AFC Leopards is a clash against Tusker, buoyed by their recent successes and hungry for further accolades. As they ride the crest of their current form, Trucha and his charges are poised to leave an indelible mark on the Kenyan football landscape.
