The national women’s volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, continued their impressive performance at the Africa Women’s Volleyball Championships in Yaounde, Cameroon, securing a commanding victory over Burkina Faso in straight sets on Thursday evening.
Under the guidance of Coach Luizomar de Moura, the team started the match with great intensity, claiming the first set with a resounding score of 25-10.
They maintained their dominance, overwhelming the West African opponents with a convincing 25-9 win in the second set.
Malkia Strikers showed no signs of slowing down, as they sealed their victory by triumphing with a scoreline of 25-10 in the final set.
This triumph marked Kenya’s second victory in the continental championships, building on their earlier 3-0 victory over Rwanda in the opening match of Pool B on Wednesday at the same venue.
In the upcoming matches of Pool B, Malkia Strikers are set to face Uganda and Morocco. With their eyes on breaking their trophy drought and securing qualification for the Paris Olympics next year, the team is sure to be highly motivated.
In another match, Rwanda rebounded from their previous defeat to their East African counterparts by defeating Lesotho in straight sets.
