Al Hilal, the Saudi Arabian club, has made a jaw-dropping world-record bid of KSh47 Billion [£259m] to secure the services of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

The French champions have put the talented forward up for sale and have omitted him from their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, making it clear that they only want players fully committed to the club.

While PSG has received a mix of offers for Mbappe, including cash and player exchanges, Al Hilal has made a definitive statement with their world-record bid. Multiple reports suggest that at least five other clubs have also contacted PSG over the weekend, expressing their keen interest in acquiring the services of Kylian Mbappe.

The 24-year-old star has been made available for transfer by PSG as he has refused to sign a new deal, leaving his contract set to expire next summer.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is determined not to let Mbappe leave for free in 2024, and the decision to exclude him from the pre-season tour indicates the club’s willingness to part ways with the forward.

The availability of Mbappe has sparked interest from clubs worldwide, with several teams reaching out to PSG in recent days. It is believed that some Premier League clubs are among the interested parties, and there are indications that PSG may consider loaning out their star striker.
