The last two Formula One races have been iconic in their own right. McLaren driver Lando Norris claimed his maiden victory in Miami, followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc becoming the first Monegasque to win on his home ground at the Monaco GP. Now, the focus shifts to the streets of Canada, where the battle for the world championship intensifies.

It has been an interesting turn of events, as Formula One fans have been treated to a thrilling competition for the top spot, with three different drivers winning the last three races.

This highlights the increasing intensity and competitiveness of the sport as the season progresses. From the traditional iconic European races to Canada, predicting a winner has become more challenging.

Red Bull, despite currently leading the constructors’ championship, has faced significant threats from their thirsty and competitive rivals. The recent race in Monaco exacerbated their issues, with a weakness spotted in the Red Bull car. World champion Max Verstappen struggled, finishing in sixth position, while his teammate Sergio Perez was eliminated in Q1.

On the other hand, McLaren has enjoyed satisfying performances from their drivers. The question remains: will McLaren maintain its good form ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix? McLaren’s car has been one to watch after becoming the fastest in Miami with Lando Norris’s victory, and also showing strong performance in Imola.

Tension now mounts on Red Bull to fix their car problems, with Ferrari edging closer in the constructors’ standings. Red Bull leads by only 24 points after the Monaco race. Perez’s retirement marked his first of the season and the second for Red Bull, while Ferrari has finished every race with both cars in the points.

Another intriguing twist is the tension between Alpine drivers. The collision between Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly left many in shock.

Ocon’s attempt to pass his teammate, despite warnings to work together, resulted in a race-ending collision. Following this incident, Alpine announced they would part ways with Ocon at the end of the 2024 season, ending a five-year relationship.

Regardless of any drama in Formula One, the Canadian GP is eagerly anticipated. Fans in Montreal are known for their enthusiastic support, often lining up to cheer their favorite drivers. The circuit is exciting, with long straights and big braking zones offering ample overtaking opportunities.
