Marco Asensio, the forward for Real Madrid, confirmed on Saturday that he will be leaving the Spanish giants at the end of his contract in June in a heartfelt video shared on social media.

With a mixture of emotions, Asensio expressed his decision to seek a new project in order to pursue fresh goals.

He acknowledged the deep connection he has had with Real Madrid, stating that it has been his passion, dream, and ultimate goal since a young age. He also expressed gratitude for the privilege of making this dream a reality during his remarkable years at the club.

While Asensio did not disclose his next destination, reports have linked him to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Having joined Real Madrid from Real Mallorca in 2014, the 27-year-old winger spent a season on loan at Espanyol before making his debut for Madrid in August 2016.

During his time at the club, Asensio clinched three La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.

Additionally, he secured the Copa del Rey this season for the first time. With a total of 61 goals in 285 appearances, Asensio offered a dynamic impact off the bench, although he was unable to establish himself as a consistent starter for Los Blancos.
