Aymen Onyango, the five-year-old son of Kenyan rugby star Lucas Onyango, initially showed a great love for kicking anything he could get his hands on around their compound.

Despite his father’s rugby background, Aymen’s mother Zeena convinced Lucas to let their son try football instead.

Aymen soon developed a passion for the game, and after trying out at various clubs, he settled on Manchester City’s academy.

According to Lucas, Aymen’s favourite player is Phil Foden, who also grew up in Manchester and went through the academy ranks.

Lucas believes that Aymen’s burning desire to succeed will help him shine at Manchester City. He hopes that both Aymen and his brother Yakubu, who is excelling in rugby, will one day play for Kenya’s national teams.

The news of Aymen’s signing with Manchester City’s academy went viral in Kenya and caught the attention of many.

Lucas, who has a master’s degree in sports science, emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive environment for talented kids in Kenya. He believes that if the right conditions are in place, there are many talented kids with ties to Kenya who could represent the country at the highest level.
