Azam, a Tanzanian media company, has agreed to pay the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) League approximately Sh8m ($60,000) to broadcast two games, the Mashemeji derby between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards on Sunday and the game between Tusker and Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday.

The FKF has said that each of the 18 Premier League clubs will benefit from the deal, with Sh300,000 to be paid to each club on Friday. The federation has also confirmed that Sh2m of the payment will go towards the referees’ dues from the last couple of matches.

The VIP tickets for the Mashemeji derby will be sold for Sh500 and regular tickets for Sh200. The money from the deal will be a considerable boost to clubs, especially those such as Vihiga Bullets.

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards are set to play at the Nyayo National Stadium, with Gor Mahia currently two points ahead of Tusker in the league. AFC Leopards will be hoping to beat their traditional rivals for the first time in seven years.
