Barcelona Women’s Unbeaten Run of 62 Games Comes to an End with a Draw Against Sevilla
Barcelona’s remarkable winning run in the women’s top-flight football league has ended after 62 consecutive victories, following a 1-1 draw with Sevilla on Tuesday night.
The Andalusian team, who struck first with a goal from Cristina Martin-Prieto, were eventually equalized by Barcelona’s Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic in the 80th minute. Despite losing the chance to continue the streak, Barcelona’s unbeaten status remains with only two league fixtures remaining.
The team secured their fourth consecutive Liga F championship in April, after beating Huelva 3-0. Additionally, Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas made a successful return to the game after a long hiatus due to an injury.
Barcelona will face German team Wolfsburg in the Champions League final on June 3, looking to achieve another unbeaten season and add another title to their impressive list of accomplishments.
