Posted on

Botswana sprinter Isaac Makwala aims to improve on his third-place finish at last year’s Kip Keino Classic as he prepares to compete in the 200m race on May 13.

The Botswana sprinter will face stiff competition from former collegiate champion Kyree King and Aaron Brown, a member of Canada’s 4x100m gold medal-winning team at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.

Makwala, a 400m champion at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and a two-time Africa 400m winner is looking forward to the challenge and said his preparations have been going well.

Meet director Barnaba Korir promised to announce the other participants soon.

Meanwhile, three-time Olympic sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has confirmed her attendance to defend her 100m title. She praised last year’s event, saying the stadium was filled with excitement, noise, crowds, and music.
