Brighton have reached an agreement with Watford to acquire Brazilian forward Joao Pedro for a club-record fee of approximately £30m.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 24 goals in 109 appearances for Watford, including 11 this season, will join Brighton during the summer transfer window and has signed a contract that will expire in June 2028.
According to Brighton’s Technical Director, David Weir, Pedro has been a long-standing target for the team, and they faced stiff competition from other European clubs in securing his signature. Weir believes Pedro’s talent and goal-scoring ability will complement Brighton’s existing forward line.
Brighton is also reportedly close to finalizing a deal to sign Liverpool midfielder James Milner. The team will face Everton in their next Premier League match on Monday as they continue to pursue European football next season.
