The Boston Celtics have surged ahead with a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, following a decisive 126-110 victory over the Indiana Pacers in a commanding performance at the TD Garden.

Rebounding from a lackluster game one, Jaylen Brown dazzled the home crowd by matching his playoff career-high with a 40-point explosion.

Despite a recent snub from the All-NBA team, Brown’s dominant display alongside Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, who each added 23 points, emphasized his critical role in the Celtics’ quest for glory. Celtics’ coach Joe Mazzulla reflected on Brown’s All-NBA omission, suggesting it serves as both a motivator and a non-factor for the focused 27-year-old. “His eyes are on the prize, and he prioritizes what truly matters team success,” Mazzulla observed.

The Pacers faced adversity as Tyrese Haliburton exited the game with a left hamstring injury in the third quarter. Haliburton, who had previously missed games due to a similar issue, had contributed 10 points and eight assists before his departure.

Pascal Siakam, who led the Pacers with 28 points, stressed the importance of unity and resilience in light of Haliburton’s uncertain status. “It’s about the collective effort,” Siakam insisted. “We’ve reached this point as a unit, and we must press on without distraction.”

As the series shifts to Indiana for games three and four, the Pacers hope to extend their 11-game home winning streak.

Meanwhile, in the Western Conference Finals, the Dallas Mavericks hold a 1-0 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the second game scheduled for Friday.

The victors of these conference battles will converge for the NBA Finals, with the opening game set to air live on BBC One at 01:30 BST on Wednesday, June 7.
