KCB managed to hold Gor Mahia to a goalless draw, delaying the latter’s championship celebrations in a tense match that took place in Murang’a.

Gor Mahia, who are on the brink of clinching their 21st FKF Premier League title, now find themselves in a position where a single victory in their upcoming match against Muhoroni Youth is crucial for securing the title.

The draw has added suspense to the title race, as Gor Mahia, the record champions, stand just one win away from an extraordinary achievement. The team’s journey to the title will continue as they face Muhoroni Youth, followed by encounters with Sofapaka, Talanta, and finally Bidco United to conclude the 2023-2024 season.

Gor Mahia currently tops the league table with 64 points, leading by 10 points over Police FC, whose recent loss to AFC Leopards has significantly reduced their chances of winning their first-ever league title.

On the other hand, KCB has experienced a notable slump, securing only one win in their last 13 league games. This downturn has resulted in their fall from second to eleventh place, leaving them with 37 points and a 27-point gap from the leaders, with only four matches remaining.

Bernard Mwalala’s squad is determined to turn their season around in their upcoming fixtures against Kariobangi Sharks, Posta Rangers, AFC Leopards, and City Stars. The team’s resolve will be tested as they strive to improve their standing and finish the season on a high note.
