Chelsea FC has finalized a transfer agreement with Leicester City for the acquisition of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at a fee of £30 million.

Dewsbury-Hall, aged 25, is poised to undergo a medical examination at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge and is expected to commit to a six-year contract that extends until the year 2030.

The talented midfielder had previously declined a comparable offer from Brighton. Leicester City initially sought £40 million for Dewsbury-Hall, but the need to adhere to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability guidelines may have influenced their decision to settle for a lower fee.

In a related development, Leicester City is purportedly negotiating the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Michael Golding from Chelsea, a factor that might be considered in the overall transfer dealings.

The transaction for Dewsbury-Hall is anticipated to be concluded prior to the June 30 deadline set by the Premier League’s financial regulations, aiding Leicester City in meeting compliance requirements.

The move will reunite Dewsbury-Hall with manager Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, following their successful campaign in the Championship last season, which saw Leicester City clinch the title.

During the previous season, Dewsbury-Hall contributed significantly to Leicester’s success, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists across 44 Championship matches. His outstanding performance earned him the accolades of Leicester’s Player of the Season and the Players’ Player of the Season.

Meanwhile, Michael Golding, despite having only one senior appearance for Chelsea, is regarded as a promising talent and has garnered attention as an England youth international.
