Chelsea FC has officially signed Senegal forward Nicolas Jackson on an impressive eight-year contract, acquiring him from Villarreal.
The 22-year-old had a standout season in La Liga, scoring 13 goals in 38 appearances for his former club. Notably, he netted nine goals in the final eight league games.
Jackson becomes the second summer signing for Chelsea, following the £52m transfer of France striker Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig.
The co-sporting directors of Chelsea, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, expressed their confidence in Jackson’s potential, describing him as a young player with immense talent.
They believe he is ready to take the next step in his career and eagerly anticipate his collaboration with the club’s new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, and his fellow Chelsea teammates.
Under Pochettino’s guidance, Chelsea is undergoing a squad reshaping process, marked by notable departures over the past week, with more expected to follow.
