CS Ababu Namwamba Applauds Progress on Talanta Sports City Project

Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Ababu Namwamba, has expressed satisfaction with the swift advancements in the construction of the Talanta Sports City, a monumental project in Kenya’s infrastructure development.

During a recent inspection, Namwamba conveyed his optimism for the project’s completion by December 2025, well in time for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) inspections.

Talanta Sports City stands as a cornerstone for the African Nations Championship (AFCON) 2027, which Kenya is set to co-host with Uganda and Tanzania. “The construction pace here reassures me that we’re on schedule. I am confident that Talanta Sports City will meet our December 2025 deadline, readying us for AFCON 2027,” Namwamba stated.

The construction is progressing methodically, with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to the timeline. Namwamba highlighted the government’s dedication to this project, ensuring its completion through consistent oversight.

The Cabinet Secretary underscored the significance of establishing a premier sports facility that will not only elevate Kenya’s stature but also become a beacon of regional pride.
