CS Owalo Awards Gor Mahia KSh 3 Million for FKF Premier League Triumph

Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy, Eliud Owalo, presented Gor Mahia with a generous sum of KSh 3 million for their outstanding victory in the 2022/2023 Kenyan Premier League.

The ceremony took place at a city hotel where the champions were honoured with a luncheon. During the event, the CS encouraged the club to maintain their strong work ethic and maintain a clear focus on excelling in the CAF Champions League.

He also challenged the club’s leadership to implement effective structures that would facilitate the team’s growth and success.

The KSh 3 million award was distributed among different stakeholders within the club. The playing unit received KSh 1 million, while the management was granted an equal amount.

The technical bench received KSh 500,000, the team’s drivers were allocated KSh 200,000, and the security team received KSh 300,000.

Gor Mahia secured their record 20th league crown by defeating Nairobi City Stars 4-1 on the final day of the campaign, edging out Tusker to claim the prestigious title.

CS Eliud Owalo also made a promising announcement, pledging to provide the club with a state-of-the-art bus at the start of the upcoming season. This gesture aims to enhance the team’s transportation and further support their endeavours.

Gor Mahia’s remarkable achievement in the Kenyan Premier League serves as a testament to their dedication, skill, and determination.

With financial support and promises of continued assistance, the club is poised to make significant strides in both domestic and international competitions.
