The East Africa Golf Tour’s 14th leg is set to tee off at the picturesque 9-hole Machakos Golf Club during the upcoming weekend. Early morning action is scheduled to commence at 7:00 a.m., with 140 golfers poised to take on the challenging fairways, vying for the top two positions to secure qualification for the grand tour finale slated for next month at the esteemed Karen Country Club.
Thus far, the tournament series has witnessed 12 teams securing their spots in the Pro-Am event. The latest additions to the roster include Phylis Kisuna, J. Jesang, J. Cheruiyot, and J. Kisuna, all of whom enthusiastically joined the competition during the 13th edition held in Kitale.
Machakos Golf Club Captain Peter Kimetu expressed anticipation for a successful golfing event, emphasizing the beautiful weather in Machakos and the meticulous preparation of the course by the Greens Manager to ensure a memorable experience for the participants.
Notable golfers such as Eliud Siganga, recipient of the Staff Winner award in Mombasa, powerful hitter Millicent Melo, John Okulo, and Ibrahim Lande are set to headline the tournament, promising an enthralling competition.
KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communication, Rosalind Gichuru, expressed their delight in the positive impact of the golf series, which not only provides memorable experiences across the country’s diverse golf courses but also aligns with their brand’s purpose of touching lives for the better.
Gichuru looked forward to a successful golf outing, with high expectations for the top two teams. In addition to the golf action on Saturday, the event will conclude with a golf clinic on Sunday morning for junior players and ladies, followed by a tree planting exercise at the same venue, further enhancing the golfing experience and contributing to environmental conservation.
