Sebastien Ogier of France won the World Rally Championship’s Mexico Rally on Sunday, claiming the event for the seventh time.
Ogier, the eight-time world champion, never looked like giving up his comfortable 35.8-second lead after Saturday, moving into first place in the drivers championship.
Elfyn Evans of the United Kingdom came in second, 27.5 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville of Belgium.
Ogier leads the World Championship standings after three rounds with 56 points He said that the war was superb, and it was an impeccable rally this weekend.
Ogier’s seventh victory in Mexico moved him one point ahead of nine-time world champion Sebastien Loeb, who has won the event six times.
Meanwhile, Finland’s reigning world champion, Kalle Rovanpera, finished fourth, nearly two minutes behind the leaders.
Following the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the race returned to Mexico for the first time since 2020.
The next World Championship event will be held on April 20 in Croatia.
