The stakes are high for the Equity Dumas as they gear up for a pivotal showdown against the Nairobi City Thunder this Friday at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.

The Dumas are on the brink of elimination, trailing 0-2 in the best-of-five series of the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men’s Premier League semifinals.

After suffering narrow defeats in the first two games, Equity Dumas is under pressure to turn the tide and extend the series to a fourth game. A loss in the upcoming match would see the Thunder, who have maintained an unblemished record this season, sweep their way into the finals.

Thunder’s head coach, Brad Ibs, is confident that his team can close out the series in game three, avoiding the need for a fourth match. Despite their success, Thunder is mindful of the turnovers that have plagued them, recognizing the need to tighten their game to secure victory.

Equity’s coach, Carrey ‘T9’ Odhiambo, is determined to orchestrate the first defeat against the Thunder this season. He is counting on the synergy of star players Joel Ntambwe, Eugene Adera, and captain Victor Bosire to reignite the team’s performance and keep their championship hopes alive.

In the women’s league, the Equity Hawks are set to face the Zetech Sparks in an equally crucial game. The Hawks have leveled their series at 1-1 and are looking to build on their recent 10-point victory. Coach Ben Oluoch has emphasized the importance of neutralizing Zetech’s standout player, Madina Okot, to secure a win.

The Hawks will lean on the contributions of Melissa Akinyi and Jemmimah Omondi, while Rita Aluoch and Valerie Kemunto’s dominance on the offensive rebounds could prove decisive in their quest for victory.

As both Equity teams prepare for their respective battles, the anticipation and excitement for Friday’s games are palpable, with the outcomes set to shape the path to the KBF finals.
