The Esports Kenya Federation (ESKF) has announced a landmark partnership with Agon by AOC, naming the gaming monitor brand as its official technology partner in preparation for the upcoming 2025 Olympic Esports Games.
The deal, which equips the federation with 40 cutting-edge gaming monitors, is set to bolster Kenya’s esports athletes as they prepare for the global stage. The monitors will be installed at the Esports Kenya training hub at Mount Kenya University, which will be renamed the AOC Gaming Hub.
Speaking during the announcement, ESKF President Ronny Lusigi emphasized the significance of the partnership in advancing the nation’s esports scene.
“Access to top-tier equipment is crucial for athletes to compete at the highest level,” Lusigi remarked. “We thank AOC Gaming for supporting our mission to grow esports in Kenya. This partnership is a monumental step forward and enhances our readiness for the inaugural Olympic Esports Games in 2025.”
Lusigi also highlighted the mutual benefits of the collaboration, noting Kenya’s burgeoning esports community of over 11 million gamers.
“This is a win-win for all. As Kenya’s gaming industry continues to grow, it presents exciting market opportunities for AOC. Together, we will develop champions and transform lives,” he added.
Pankaj Budhiraja, Regional Manager for AOC & Philips Monitors in the Middle East and Africa, expressed his excitement about the partnership and its potential impact on Kenyan esports.
“We are proud to partner with Esports Kenya Federation to nurture and expand esports in the region,” Budhiraja said. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to empowering local talent and ensuring Kenya remains a key player in the global esports ecosystem.”
Sports Principal Secretary Peter Tum, who was present at the event, lauded the partnership as a significant milestone for Kenyan esports.
“This collaboration is a testament to Kenya’s growing prominence in the digital sports arena. The government is committed to providing the necessary support to ensure our athletes excel at the Olympic Esports Games and beyond,” Tum stated.
He also pointed to Kenya’s regional leadership in technology, noting that esports is a natural extension of the country’s digital innovation.
The AOC Gaming Hub at Mount Kenya University will serve as a center for training and talent development. Fitted with the latest in gaming monitor technology, the facility will play a critical role in nurturing future esports champions.
This partnership not only signals a bright future for Kenyan esports but also underscores the country’s potential to become a powerhouse in the rapidly growing global gaming industry. With the support of AOC and the Kenyan government, the ESKF is well-positioned to achieve excellence on the world stage.
