Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President, Doris Petra, commended a group of 15 coaches currently pursuing their CAF A coaching course, emphasizing the significance of their dedication and consistency in advancing their coaching careers. Petra highlighted that this persistence should serve as an example for emerging coaches.

While recognizing the value of coaches attaining the highest qualifications, Petra pointed out that many trainers who start with CAF D courses often plateau at the lower levels without further progress.

“This class has been consistent since they did Class D, maintaining the pace of upgrading themselves. And if you look properly, you can take note that most of them have been in football for so long, and some of them are former football players,” said Petra.

She praised their dedication and the fact that many of them have stayed together since 2016, signifying their genuine interest and commitment to coaching.

The CAF A coaching course is the second-highest coaching qualification offered by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), with the prestigious CAF Pro License being the highest attainable certification on the continent.

Among the coaches enrolled in the course are Beldine Odemba, the coach of Harambee Starlets, Anthony Kimani from Ulinzi Stars, Bernad Kawinzi, assistant coach at Posta Rangers, and CAF instructor Jackline Juma. The course, led by experienced coaches Salim Ali and Francis Kimanzi, will span six months.
