Rudi Garcia, the former Roma boss, has been appointed as the new coach of Italian champions Napoli.

Garcia, 59, takes over from Luciano Spalletti, who led the team to their first Scudetto in 33 years before leaving his position. Garcia was previously sacked by Al Nassr in April, despite the team’s strong position in the table following Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival.

Expressing his excitement on Twitter, Garcia stated his pleasure in joining the Napoli project and returning to Italy, emphasizing his motivation and ambition.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed Garcia’s appointment, welcoming him and wishing him luck.

Fluent in Italian, Garcia previously achieved success with Lille, winning the French double in 2011, and guiding Roma to Champions League qualification in 2014 and 2015.

Garcia’s task now includes keeping the title-winning squad intact and managing interest from other clubs in players like Kim Min-Jae and Victor Osimhen.
