Fulham Sign Defender Castagne From Leicester
Fulham Football Club officially announced the acquisition of Belgium defender Timothy Castagne from Leicester on Tuesday, in a deal reportedly valued at approximately £15 million ($19 million).
The Premier League outfit has confirmed the successful recruitment of the 27-year-old right-back, who has committed to a contract until 2027, with an additional option of extending it by 12 months.
Castagne, boasting 33 senior appearances for the Belgium national team, spent three seasons at Leicester, a period that saw the team unfortunately relegated to the Championship in May.
In response to his move, Castagne shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I feel very good. It’s been a long transfer window, but finally, I’m here, and I’m happy to be here. It’s a big relief. I’ve talked to the manager and I just can’t wait to start training and playing.”
Fulham’s vice-chairman, Tony Khan, expressed his anticipation, saying, “I’m excited to welcome Timothy Castagne to Fulham. He’s a versatile and very talented defender with great experience in the Premier League and international competition for Belgium.”
The new signing, Castagne, might make his Premier League debut for Fulham during a challenging encounter against the reigning champions, Manchester City, on Saturday.
